"In order to estimate how many HF patients are indicated for CRT, three models were developed and compared: Model 1 (based on a report from the Italian Network on Congestive Heart Failure published by Baldasseroni et al.): patients with Sinus Rhythm, LBBB, and LVEF<30% represent 10.8% of HF patients.Model 2 (based on a paper by Shenkman et al.): among patients with HF, those with QRS duration ≥120 ms and systolic dysfunction defined as LVEF <45% account for about 14.1%.Model 3 (based on a report from the National Registry to Advance Heart Health (ADVANCENT) published by El‐Chami et al. and on data from the EuroHeart Survey): 28.9% of systolic (LVEF ≤40%) HF patients have sinus rhythm and QRS ≥120 ms, and, since systolic HF patients represent 36% of all HF patients, CRT indication—defined as LVEF ≤40%, sinus rhythm and QRS ≥120 ms—is present in about 10.4% of HF patients.
