This study was approved by the medical research ethics committee of the Erasmus Medical Center (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) and was registered at www.trialregister.nl (identifier NTR4826). The research followed the tenets of the Declaration of Helsinki. Patients were selected at the outpatient glaucoma department of the Rotterdam Eye Hospital. Written informed consent was collected from all patients after a detailed explanation of the study procedures involved was provided."
