"The Baby's First Bites study is a multicenter trial using a superiority randomized controlled design that was conducted from 2 study locations (Wageningen University and Research, and Leiden University) and carried out in 4 provinces (Zuid-Holland, Noord-Holland, Gelderland, and Utrecht) in the Netherlands. Information regarding, for example, recruitment of participants and randomization can be found in the study protocol, as well as in the flow chart depicted in (). As soon as parents decided to participate, written informed consent was obtained from both parents. The protocol was approved by the Ethical Review Board of Education and Child Studies, Leiden University (protocol number ECPW-2015/116) and the Medical Ethical Review Board of Wageningen University and Research (METC-WU protocol number NL54422.081.15). The trial was registered during inclusion of participants at the Netherlands National Trial Register (identifier NTR6572) and at clinicaltrials.gov (NCT03348176). Conclusions: Interventions were not effective in increasing vegetable intake or self-regulation of energy intake. Future research might usefully focus on risk groups such as families who already experience problems around feeding.: This trial is registered at clinicaltrials.gov as NCT03348176."
