"The study was registered with Clinical Trials (clinicaltrials.gov, identifier: NCT03817541), and approval was granted by the South‐East Norway regional ethics committee (helseforskning.etikkom.no, ref: 2017/2401). Written informed consent was obtained from adult patients scheduled for elective laparoscopic surgery, either cholecystectomy or bariatric surgery; the latter including either gastric bypass, mini gastric bypass or gastric sleeve.
