"This systematic review was reported in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement []. A priori registration to PROSPERO was received on 4 May 2021 (registration number CRD42021244365). A manual literature search was conducted in June 2021 in electronic bibliographic databases MEDLINE, PsychINFO, and CINAHL. A combination of search or MeSH terms, appearing in either title, abstract, subject heading, or keyword, were used, including vegan* OR vegetarian* OR “plant based” OR “meat avoid*” OR “meat abstain*”, with “eating disorder*” OR “disordered eating*” OR anorexi* OR bulimi* OR orthorexi* OR “binge eat*”. The reference lists of eligible papers were searched for relevant studies reporting on psychometric properties of eating disorder scales in veg*ans for inclusion."
