"The data that support the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request. Patients with a recent diagnosis of ICM who were scheduled for coronary angiography and/or percutaneous coronary intervention at one of the following UK centers were enrolled in the study: St Thomas’ Hospital, London; King’s College Hospital, London; Bristol Heart Institute, Bristol. Inclusion criteria were impaired left ventricular systolic function (ejection fraction ≤40%) and extensive coronary artery disease (British Cardiovascular Intervention Society Jeopardy Score ≥8). Exclusion criteria were acute coronary syndrome within 4 weeks, contraindication to LGE-CMR, and severe valvular heart disease. All participants gave written informed consent in accordance with the protocol approved by the UK National Research Ethics Service (18/LO/0171). The study was registered with the National Institute for Health Research UK Clinical Research Network Portfolio database (Central Portfolio Management System identifier: 36867)."
