Evidence found in paper:

"In the current study, the majority of hours attributed to home support were provided on an informal care basis. This is a crucial finding, as previous research has reported that, despite the significant hours of informal care people with SCI receive, carers are often left feeling as though the role they play in the injured person’s life is not recognized or supported by health professionals (). The high level of informal care people with TBI and SCI receive has been shown to have a clear impact on the overall quality of life of the carer, resulting in common negative outcomes, such as depression, anxiety and isolation, for informal carers ()."
