"FUNDING INFORMATION Frederikke Lihme was supported by a grant from the U.S. National Institutes of Health (1R01HL13984401A1). The Canadian portion of the study was funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (grant number 427476)."

Evidence found in paper:

"The study included all pregnancies of at least 20 weeks of gestation that resulted in live births between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2018 in Alberta and Denmark. Pregnancies were excluded if the woman's age at delivery was <11 or > 55 years (Denmark, n = 6; Alberta, n = 98). The Danish cohort excluded pregnancies that were not registered in the National Patient Register (n = 806). In the Alberta cohort, pregnancies were excluded if there were inconsistencies in reported birth year (n = 4) or if the mother or infant had an invalid identifier (n = 162). Pregnancies with missing gestational age (Denmark, n = 5814; Alberta, n = 12 683) at delivery were assumed to have been completed at 40 weeks of gestation; gestational age at delivery was only used to define the period in which a woman was at risk of preeclampsia and GDM. Additionally, pregnancies resulting in a live birth in Denmark between 1978 and 2004 were included in a separate cohort for supplemental analyses. For further details, see the Study Cohort Flowcharts in Appendix ."
