"In this study, we followed up this cohort from April to July 2017, and a total of 2780 participants were followed up this time. As shown in Figure , participants with no blood or urine samples (n = 530), missing baPWV and CIMT values (n = 44), eGFR <60 mL/min/1.73 m2 (n = 12) or UACR ≥30 mg/g (n = 249), and CVD or stroke (n = 3) were excluded, leaving 1942 participants for the final analyses. Written informed consent was obtained from all participants. All work was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. The study protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee of First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU1AF2015LSL‐047) and was clinically registered (NCT02734472, http://www.clinicaltrials.gov)."
