"The data analyzed in this study were the baseline data of the ongoing China Hypertension Registry Study (Registration number: ChiCTR1800017274). The previous literature describes the detailed method of this study. The study was conducted in Wuyuan County in Jiangxi Province of China in March 2018 and is a real‐world observational study. Eligible participants were adults ≥18 years old with hypertension, with sitting resting systolic blood pressure (SBP) ≥140 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure (DBP) ≥ 90 mmHg at the time of screening, or people taking antihypertensive drugs. The exclusion criteria of this study include (1) The inability to prove informed consent due to psychological or nervous system injury; (2) the inability to follow up according to study protocol or upcoming relocations; (3) Patients assessed by the study physician as unsuitable for inclusion or long‐term follow‐up. The protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Institute of Biomedical Research of Anhui Medical University. Informed consent was obtained from all participants before participation in the study."
