"In addressing the objective of this review, studies relating to the breastfeeding experiences and outcomes of women with a recent history of GDM in high income healthcare settings, utilising quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods methodology were included. We used Whittemore and Knafl’s integrative review methodology to guide the process: problem identification, literature search, data evaluation and extraction, data analysis, and presentation of results []. An integrative approach was taken to analysis and reporting whereby both quantitative and qualitative data are synthesised allowing for a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the topic. The research question guiding this review was: what are the breastfeeding experiences and outcomes of women when there is a history of GDM in the corresponding pregnancy? A research protocol was developed a-priori and published in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews database (PROSPERO) (CRD42022292712)."
