"Sixty-day-old male and female adult Swiss mice were obtained from the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil. The animals were kept in a separate animal room, in a 12 h light/dark cycle (with lights on at 6:00 a.m.), at a room temperature of 22 ± 2 °C, with free access to food and water. The animal care and behavioral assays were conducted in compliance with the National Institutes of Health Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (NIH Publications No. 823, revised 1978) and International Guiding Principles for Biomedical Research Involving Animals. The experimental protocols were authorized by the Committee on Care and Use of Experimental Resources of the Federal University of Pelotas (Brazil), affiliated with the National Council for the Control of Animal Experimentation, and registered under the number CEEA 13049-2021. All efforts were made to minimize the number of animals used and their suffering. Institutional Review Board Statement: The study was conducted in accordance with the Committee on Care and Use of Experimental Resources of the Federal University of Pelotas (Brazil), affiliated with the National Council for the Control of Animal Experimentation, and registered under the number CEEA 13049-2021."
