"Declarations Ethics approval and consent to participateThe authors gained ethical approval from the University of Leeds, UK, on the 12th January 2022 under the code MEEC 21–008. Informed consent was taken from all study participants via a signed statement. The statement was in English but read aloud to non-English speaking participants in Arabic (their native tongue). They also drew up a Terms of Reference detailing the expectations of the collaboration that was signed by the lead author and a member of the IFRC. The LRC also sent the authors a copy of their anti-coercion consent form for their self-collected data.
