"Declarations Ethics approval and consent to participateEthical approval for this study was obtained from the Ethical Committee of the National Institute for Communicable Disease Control and Prevention, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (2022–027). All marmots were live trapped in rodent control in field areas, which were not privately owned or protected. No specific permits were required for the described field studies. The sampling methods adhered to ARRIVE guidelines and regulations for the handling and sampling of marmots. Isoflurane was used to euthanize the animals.
